CAPTAINS' WELCOME

Hi there, and welcome to Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Women’s Rugby Football Club!

If you are hoping to make the most of your time at King’s College, then look no further than GKTWRFC! Whether you are a seasoned professional or a complete beginner who had never even heard of rugby before coming to university (like the majority of our team!) then this is the place for you! With the chance to be part of an extremely close-knit club, weekly socials, regular opportunities to raid the fancy dress box, the infamous rugby tour and maybe a little bit of rugby to keep fit along the way, you’d be mad not to join in! We’re sure you’ll love it as much as the rest of us do! Rugby love and looking forward to meeting you!
Sophie & Nana

THE OLDEST RUGBY CLUB IN THE WORLD

We may not have quite been founded in 1843 like our male counterparts, but GKTWRFC still holds tradition firmly at the forefront of our minds. The annual Rugby Ball displays wonderfully the meeting of old and new; the men’s and women’s teams join for a night of wonderful food, delightful entertainment and, naturally, debauchery. The perfect way to end the rugby year in style.

Not only is everyone incredibly approachable at the club, but because we mostly study health sciences, there’s always someone – either an old girl or current player – to help you out, be it in exam revision or advice with how to maximise your time in Guy’s Bar!

We currently play in two leagues – the BUCS league on Wednesdays and the LUSL league on Sundays – so we regularly have two matches a week from November onwards, culminating in a final match against KCL, with each sport playing their counterpart for the prestigious Macadam Cup. 2013 saw the combined GKT teams crowned victorious once again - making that 9 years out of the 10 it has been running!

But don’t worry about not having any rugby experience – if you dedicate yourself to the club and regularly come to all our training sessions, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to play the greatest sport in the world, for the greatest club in the world.

But don’t take our word for it, get in touch, come along and see for yourself just what you’ve been missing out on!
