WHO ARE WE?
GKTWRFC is made up of an incredible group of women training as doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other healthcare students all based on Guy’s campus.
We take girls from all kinds of rugby backgrounds from experienced players, to women that have never played before and, as the oldest rugby club in the world, we pride ourselves on our long and exceptional history of rugby.
What we do
We train once a week on a Monday night and play twice a week on a Wednesday and Sunday afternoon in two different leagues; BUSCs and LUSL. We are currently playing in the South Eastern 3B League in BUCS and in the Intermediate League in LUSL. OUR HISTORY
Our club is an amalgamation of the teams from Guy’s Hospital, King’s Hospital and St Thomas’ hospital. Guy’s RFU, formed in 1843, is the oldest rugby club in the world and we have a long and proud history of rugby with some impressive alumni in the mix! With the formation of the women team in 1993 the club has gone from strength to strength with our club now being the biggest its ever been.
